He was predeceased by: his son Scott David Mathes; his parents, Jasper Mathes and Bessie Mathes; and his siblings, Wilma Flick, Jobie Fields, Sheree Anderson and Ronnie Mathes.
He is survived by: his wife Gail Mathes; his daughter Mindy Tayeh; his grandchildren, Christiana Ward, Michael, Amir and Gabriel Tayeh; his sister Carolyn Justice; and his friend Jerry Stevens.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Click Funeral Home (9020 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville, TN 37923). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Funeral Home and Cremations Middlebrook Chapel (9020 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville, TN 37923). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Oak Ridge Memorial Park (1501 Bethel Valley Rd, Oak Ridge, TN 37830).
