He is survived by: his sons, Gene Wishon, Jr. of Jonesborough and Brad Wishon of Jonesborough; his former wife Sharon Wishon; his grandsons, Bradley Wishon, Jonathan Wishon and Charles Wishon; his great grandchildren, Hunter Wishon, Ellie Wishon and Elias Wishon; and his siblings, James Wishon, Mark Wishon, Dorothy Dye and Sue Smith. He is also survived by his chihuahua, "Dolly"; and many nephews and nieces.
