He was predeceased by: his wife Carolyn Cox; his parents, Howell Cox and Elizabeth Cox; his daughter Lisa Grate; and his siblings, Della Haynes, Jane McFalls, Leonard Cox and Wendell Cox.

He is survived by: his children, Robin Neavitt, Crosby Neavitt, Linda Sockwell, Tammy Baxley and Dezaray Cox; and his sisters, Faye Hartman (Max) and Joan Hubbard. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
