Martha I. Mavity Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Martha I. Mavity of Jasper, Tennessee, who passed away on July 23, 2022 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Deed McWhorter; her husband George W. Mavity; her siblings, Paul McWhorter, Ivan McWhorter, Catherine McMahan and Evelyn Pilcher; and her son-in-law Steve Merrell.
She is survived by: her children, Gilda Barnett (Michael), Susan Merrell, George W. Jr. Mavity (Deborah) and Michael S. Mavity (Kathryn); and her grandchildren, Angie Jones (Robert), Aimie Hall (Jeff), James Stevens (Melanie), Kelly Toline, Kevin Merrell (Jennifer), Cory Merrell (Lindsay), Travis Mavity (Jill), Chris Byrd (Shannon Holder), Heather Muir (Greg), Stephanie Morgan (Dustin), Ben Mavity (Kristen Climack), Jennifer Reeves, Morgan Mavity (Micah Prickett), Janessa Reeves and Jakob Mavity. She is also survived by her 21 great-grandchildren; her 2 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
