He was predeceased by: his former wife Nancy Lee Powell (Ripley); his wife Lena Powell; his son Darren Scott Powell; his parents, Maynard Powell and Bonnie Powell (Isley); and his brothers, William Powell, Maynard Morris Powell, Jr., Robert Lee Powell and Horace Odevah Powell.
He is survived by: his son Michael Steven Powell (Rhonda) of Ohio; his sisters, Claudette Love of Jacksboro and Bonnie Cate Gross of Knoxville; his grandchildren, Michael Scott Powell and Samantha Powell; and his great grandchildren, Christopher Powell and Wyatt Powell.
