He was predeceased by: his parents, William Payton Patterson and Dorothy Davis Patterson; and his siblings, Linda Lois Roberts and William "Pat" Patterson. He is survived by: his wife Linda Blackstone Patterson; his children, Paula Jo Ryan and Gary Clayton Patterson; his grandchildren, Jennifer Ryan Garland (Phillip), Megan Nicole Ryan (Zach Helton) and Christopher Grant Ryan; his great grandchildren, Cash, Lyric, Crew and Liam; his brother Wendell Patterson (Elsie); and his family Gary.
