He was predeceased by: his parents, Tom Self and Eva Self; his grandparents, Herman, Grace Self, Rada and Newt Grubbs; his brother-in-law Charles Campbell; his nephew Matthew Campbell; and his mother-in-law Ann McCracken.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra McCracken Self; his daughter Renee Bowman; his sister Judy Self Campbell; his sisters-in-law, Willie May McCracken and Jean Garst; and his close friend Flower. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
