He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Vernon Root Sr. and Alice Horner; and his sister Mary Alice Bohling. He is survived by: his wife Sally B. Root; and his children, Pam (Steve Pagel), Russell (Cindy Root), Darrell Root and Dale Root. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 2 nieces.
