He was predeceased by: his parents, Madge Waddell (Smith) and William Delbert Waddell; and his brother Robert Waddell. He is survived by: his son Eric Waddell; his wife Virginia Waddell (Self); his daughter-in-law Amanda Waddell of Greeneville; his grandchildren, Brandon Waddell (Cabriella Lay) of Washington, DC and Emma Waddell; his brother Jack; his sister-in-law Nancy Kilday; and his nieces, Pamela Kilday, Daphney Glass, Kim and Chris Dixon.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to a charity of choice, which assists those in need Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
