He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Dr. Charles T. Herbert, Sr. and Martha Nelms Herbert; his wife Carol Herbert; his children, Richard N. Herbert, Jr. (Norma) and Michelle Durham; and his grandchildren, John, Charles, Sable and Chase. He was also cherished by seven great grandchildren.
Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
