He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Vernon Buchanan and Dorothy DeHart Buchanan; his son Danny Buchanan; and his siblings, Iva Dunn, Faye Childress, Berma Jo Buchanan, Janice Salters, Judy Buchanan and Danny Buchanan.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Campbell Buchanan of Evensville, Tennessee; his children, Kathy Pendleton (Chester) of Dayton, Karen Herd (Johnny) of Evensville, Jackie Wayne Buchannan, Jr. of Evensville and Kimberly Pugh of Dayton, Tennessee; and his siblings, Glenda Pendley, Mona Gable of Albertville, Alabama and Jimmy Buchanan of Albertville, Alabama. He is also survived by five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
