He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Hoyle and Sophia Hoyle (Tilson); his siblings, Bill Hoyle, Dennis Hoyle and Ann Tipton; and his grandson James Hoyle.

He is survived by: his wife Virginia Griffith Hoyle; his sons, James D. Hoyle (Belinda) and Danny G. Hoyle; and his grandsons, Daniel Hoyle and Dylan Hoyle.
