He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Butchen and Phyllis Butchen; his wife Dartha Butchen; his sister Virginia Tucker; and his daughter-in-law Darlene Butchen.

He is survived by: his children, Phyllis Johnson (David) and William Butchen; his grandchildren, Amanda Killebrew (Ben), Jessica McKee (Matthew) and Brandon Johnson; and his great grandchild Eli Killebrew.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church. 2949 Davies Plantation, Lakeland, TN 38002.
