He was predeceased by: his parents, William Archie Newton and Edith Furlong Newton; the mother of his children Magdalene Phillips Newton; his wife Mary Sue Rosson Newton; and his siblings, June Kennedy and Arbie Newton.
He is survived by: his children, Debbie Lindsay (Bobby) of Decaturville, Venita Pearcy (Terry) of Lexington, Teresa Newton (Jimmy) of Alabama, Tony Newton (Michelle) of Darden, Terry Newton (Leigh Ann) of Jackson, Chris Newton (Stephanie) of Lexington and Jeff Newton (Brandi) of Jackson. He is also survived by twenty-eight grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
