He is survived by: his daughter Mary Susan Wilson (Rex) of Lafollette, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Rachel Hofmann, Matthew Spare, Zachary Low and Kaylynn Low; his great grandchildren, Peyton Spare, Anslee Hofmann, Henry Hofmann and Mila Spare; his brother Col. James A. Smith; and his sister-in-law Imma Pete Smith of Williamsburg, Kentucky.
