He is survived by: his wife Teresa Welch Helton; his children, Don Edward Helton Jr. (Amy), Robert Lee Helton (Sandy) and Melissa Ann Riley (James); and his sisters, Pauline Jordan, Christine Helton and Iva Nicley.
