He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawton Tarpley and Ina Phillips Tarpley. He is survived by: his wife Helen Owen Tarpley; his brother Philip Tarpley of Manchester; and his cousins, John Tarpley (Margaret) of Nashville, Judy Murphy of Watertown, Lynn Beadle (Bobby) of Watertown and Joe Tarpley (Beverly) of Madison, MS..
