He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Marshall Dodson and Lura Elizabeth Uzell Dodson; and his sisters, Rebecca Shepard, Elizabeth Fralix and Palma Fox.
He is survived by: his children, Kevin Dean Dodson of Columbia and Wendy Lynn Lee (Tracy) of Chapel Hill; and his brother Kenneth Odell "Kenny" Dodson of Columbia. He is also survived by five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
