He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Fletcher Owens and Dorothy Hopwood Owens. He is survived by: his wife Patsy Slaughter Owens of Santa Fe; his children, Timothy Owens and Christy Owens; his brothers, David Owens (Jeannie) of Hampshire and Danny Owens (Lynette) of Santa Fe; and his grandchildren, Michael Ray Owens, Christina Littrell (Ricky), Elizabeth Armstrong, Katlyn Armstrong and Amelia Elizabeth Littrell.
