She was predeceased by: her parents, Vinson Young and Gertrude Young; her daughter Linda Jo Smith; and her siblings, Vinson Young, Jr., Elizabeth Eley, Nell Fagan, David Young and Billy Young.
She is survived by: her children, Patsy McEntyre and Wade McEntyre; and her sisters, Peggy Hagood and Charlotte Holly.
In lieu of sending flowers to the family, Mattie requested that people send love and support to someone they know who is homebound.
