He is survived by: his wife Susan Slate; his children, Bruce Slate and Julie Prather; his grandchild Allie Clabaugh (Hobie); his great grandchild Charlotte Clabaugh; and his siblings, Nancy Hazel (Al), Martha Smallwood, Mary Witt, Penny Huser (Dick) and Mark Slate (Vicki). He is also survived by 25 nieces and nephews.
