He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Vinson and Nellie Caldwell Morton; and his brother Richard Morton. He is survived by: his wife Betty Morton; his daughters, Melissa Morton Reece (Ted) and Margaret Morton Ritchie (Wayne); his grandchildren, Alan Reece (Megan), David Reece (Anna Beth), Natalie Ritchie (Jacob) and Robert Ritchie; his great grandchildren, Warner, Fitz, Holland and Felix; and his brother Charles Morton.
