He was predeceased by: his father John Frank; and his children, Wanda Haney, John Roy Gilbert, Larry Gilbert and Lonny Mansperger.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Gilbert; his daughters, Connie Bradley (Wayne), Cathy Lane, Yvonne Gilbert, Mary Murphy and Thelma Jane Gilbert; and his brother Johnny Gilbert (Helga). He is also survived by several grandchildren; several great grandchildren.
