He was predeceased by: his wife Billie Ruth Cornwell; his parents, Roy R. Cornwell and Nell Keller Cornwell; his siblings, Max Cornwell, Dorothy Reecer and Betty Van Huss; his grandson Joel Cornwell; and his great grandchild Emryn Faith Cornwell.
He is survived by: his sons, John R. Cornwell, Jr. (Deborah), Charles D. Cornwell (Peggy), Stephen J. Cornwell and William Cornwell (Sharon); his grandchildren, Brad, Adam, Morgan and Amanda; and his sister-in-law Sue West.
