He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Simpson and Nina Simpson; his wife Patsy Orrick Simpson; his son James Michael Simpson; and his brother Garfield Simpson.
He is survived by: his daughter Karen Simpson Cooper (Martin); his grandchildren, Zachary Cooper, Isaac Cooper (Whitnee), Cole Cooper and Claire Simpson; his great grandchild Avery Cooper; his sisters, Betty Hensley, Juanita Williams, Patsy Dykes, Peggy Harold and Ruth Lemmons; his niece Debbie Snapp; and his nephew Tim Simpson. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
