He was predeceased by: his wife Evelyn Stuart; his former wife Mary Nelle Thrash; his siblings, Bill and Gertrude; and his parents, Robert A. Childress and Bessie Pipkin Childress.
He is survived by: his daughters, Pam Forrest (David) and Becky Kirk (Mike); his grandchildren, Matthew Forrest (Ashley), Ben Kirk (Jami) and Jessica Linz (Tanner); his great grandchildren, Sarah Carden, Bowen Michael and Addie Parson; and his niece Ann Childress.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Red Bank United Methodist Church.
