It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Howard Heard Jr. (Chattanooga, Tennessee), who passed away on October 25, 2021, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Heard, Sr. and Sara Black; his siblings, Annie Pryor (late Frank), Sara Reel (late Johnnel), Helen Brooks, Doris Greenfield (late James R. Williams), Gina Heard, Edward L. Heard (late Yvone) and Gary Heard (Barbara); his daughter Shelia D. Heard; and his grandson JaQuise L. Heard.
He is survived by: his wife Emily E. Goss; his siblings, Katie Gladney (late David) of Baltimore, MD and Raleigh Heard, Sr. (Theresa) of Elkridge, MD.; his children, Christopher Heard (Lisa), Delbert L. Heard, Melbert L. Heard (Tonya) of Chattanooga, TN, Howard E. Heard (Shirlyne) of Newport News, VA, Edward A. Heard and Emily Heard Blackmon (Willie) of Chattanooga, TN; and his sister Pearl Robinson. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and several long-time close friends.
