He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Tankesley (McKinny) and Edwin Lawrence Tankesley; and his siblings, Jean Fuston (Tankesley), Tom and Bob Tankesley.
He is survived by: his wife Madolyn Jo Strahle; and his children, Brenda Oglesby (Bill), Karen Friedla (Paul), Judy Hooton (David), Lynn Grotefendt (Kent) and Mike Tankesley (Beverly).
