He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Graham and Marjorie Cowan of Cleveland, NC; and his son Justin Cowan. He is survived by: his wife Katherine "Kay" Jenkins Cowan of Cleveland, TN; his daughters, Lisa West (Vince) of Chattanooga, TN, Christy Turner (Ross) of Chattanooga, TN and Mary Smith (Steve) of Chattanooga, TN; his grandchildren, Elysa, Donovan West, Katie Lee (Sommers), Caleb, Lily (McGuire), Ben Turner, Emma, Clara Willa and Duncan Smith; his sisters, Kay Graham (Mark), Pat McLaughlin (John Robertson) and Gail Thompson (Mike); and his great grandchildren, Rhiannon and Elliana.

“Don was a good friend of mine from 2nd grade through 9th grade at Mt. Ulla School. He and Terry W., and Sandy B. would come over to go rabbit hunting with me on my grandmother’s farm, because he had rabbit dogs and I didn’t. He was a great friend and I’m sure a wonderful man. My condolences to the family, may you remember and celebrate his life. God bless. Joe Darrell”
