He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Roberson and Gwendolyn Roberson; and his grandparents, James and Lucille English. He is survived by: his fiancé LaTonya Rucker; his son Derrick L. Roberson Jr.; his sister Debra Freeman (Harold); his nephew Anthony Shaqualm McCoy; and his siblings, Allen Jones, Michael Ray, Joshunta Holloway, Porshonda Ray and Shandrell Jackson.
