He was loved and cherished by many people including: his significant other Loretta Sue Smith; his sons, Steven Mendez of San Antonio, TX and Reynaldo Mendez Smith of Celina, TN; his mother Aurora Mireles of San Antonio, TX; and his siblings, Jose Mendez (Joel), Randy Mendez, Jesse Mendez and Mary Mendez. He was also cherished by 15 nieces and nephews; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews as well as many friends.
