He was predeceased by: his parent Dana Buchanan; his son Bobby Joe Buchanan; and his siblings, Walt, Joe, Alvin, John, Tom Buchanan, Betty Buchanan and Linda Arnold.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Gay Buchanan; his children, Amanda Potter (Bryan) and Steven Buchanan (Joy); his granddaughters, Haley and Kristen Santucci; and his sisters, Margie Bryant of Aberdeen and Margret Potter of Roseburg, Oregon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
