He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Bill" Perkins Thornton Sr. and Anne Mae Pippin Thornton. He is survived by: his son Thomas "Walker" Thornton (Dannon) of Knoxville, TN; and his siblings, William Perkins "Perk" Thornton Jr. (Bettye) of Clarkrange, TN and Elaine Thornton Lee (Jack) of Brownsville, TN..
