She was predeceased by: her father James N. Dancy, Sr.; and her brothers, James Webb and Cleveland Turpin. She is survived by: her mother Clara Lou Webb Dancy of Stanton, TN; her husband James Evans of Brownsville, TN; her sons, Johnny Townsend (Peggy) of Stanton, TN and Roger Townsend of Brownsville, TN; her stepdaughter Sharon Barnes (Larry) of Middleton, TN; and her siblings, Pete Dancy, Robert "Rooster" Dancy, Judy Ann McNabb, Rose Lott, Carolyn Louise Elrod, Jan Bennett, Linda Lou Martin and Dina Clara Dancy. She is also survived by six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family has requested memorials be made to West Tennessee School for the Deaf, 100 Berryhill Dr., Jackson, TN 38301.
