She was predeceased by: her parents, Jasper Allen Qualls and Lorene Massey Qualls; her husband Alvin Burns; her siblings, Ricky Qualls, Janie Bernice Perry, Pauline Simpson, Ruby Jean Latham and Joann McBroom; and her grandson Zachary Burns.

She is survived by: her children, Helen Joy Stanley (Larry), Cheryl Curtis, Carol Diane Ballinger (Clarence), Nelson Perkinson (Jill), Gary Odell Curtis and Jerry Allen Curtis; her stepsons, James Burns and Michael Burns; her sisters, Emilee Church, Carolyn Tillman Essary (Bennie), Brenda Stanley (Sammy) and Linda Tillman; and her grandchildren, Tracy Riddle (Tommy), Connie Perry (Craig), Kevin Stanley, Brian Ballinger (Jennifer), Matthew Ballinger (Linda), Karen Miller (Chris), Sarah Hatch (Riley), Daniel Ballinger (Skylar), Amanda Arevalos (Juan), Shawn Griffin (Shelly), Curtis Powell, Lora White, Amy Hale (Tommy), Luke Perkinson, Kristin Driscoll, Andy Burns and Cody Burns. She is also survived by 35 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
