With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Elizabeth Tuell Nelson of Bluff City, Tennessee, born in Washington, Virginia, who passed away on September 9, 2023 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Tuell and Hazel Leonard Tuell; her daughter Connie Tignor; her grandson David Tignor; and her sisters, Betty Carmack (Bob) and Audrey Smith.
She is survived by: her husband Clay Nelson; her children, Marty Nelson (Mary Lewis) of Meadowview, VA and Angela Nelson Flick (Shane) of Bristol, VA; her grandchildren, Brent Nelson (Amanda Stewart) of Canonsburg, PA, Jessica Tignor (Levi) of Meadowview, VA, JJ Sandoe (Hannah) of Piney Flats and Emily Tignor of Abingdon, VA; her great grandchildren, Kylie Tignor, Michael Tignor, Braxton Nelson and Tayland Nelson; and her son-in-law Kyle Tignor (Donna) of Abingdon, VA. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
