He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Taylor and Sabrina Williams Taylor; his wife Thelma Rather Taylor; and his siblings, Ralph, Banner, Warren (Harding), Mattie Goodman, Mabel Taylor and Virginia Farmer.
He is survived by: his children, Stephen Taylor (Cheryl) of Bristol, TN and Susan Richards (Ted) of Soddy Daisy, TN; his sister Leeta Ferguson; his grandsons, Craig Taylor (Jessica), Dr. Ted Richards, Jr. (Andee) and Kendall Richards; and his great grandchildren, Rhedyn, Daryn Taylor, Knox and Julie Richards. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
