He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Ann Kennedy Knapper; his daughter Tammy Black; and his siblings, Bill Knapper, Fred Knapper, Anna Bostelman and Margaret Bruce.
He is survived by: his children, Cherry of Jacksonville, FL and Andrew "Andy" Knapper (Kathy) of Belvidere; his son-in-law Greg Black of Jacksonville, FL; his grandchildren, Melanie Alimusa (Ramsey) of Phoenix, AZ, Leslie Holt (Chris) of Franklin, TN, Mary Marlowe (Steve) of Knoxville, TN, Kate Hicks of Jacksonville, FL and Andy Black of Jacksonville, FL; and his great grandchildren, Emily, Erin, Thomas, Maggie, Mason and Reagan.
