He was predeceased by: his wife Angela Carol Ray Smith; his parents, Thomas Smith and Sallie Smith; his brothers, Ronnie and Mark Smith; and his stepgrandson Nehemiah Hewlett.
He is survived by: his sons, Thomas Nevon Smith Jr. of East Ridge, TN and Michael Pitts of Morristown, TN; his stepchildren, Michael Johnson of Ohio and Mandy Hewlett (Michael) of Florida; his sisters, Teresa Ogilvie of Columbia, TN, Tara Blue of Soddy Daisy, TN and LaWanna Willis (James) of Soddy Daisy, TN; his great-aunt Oralee Moore; and his grandchildren, Thomas Smith III, Tyler Smith, Asia Mackey (Jabari) and Noah Christian Kobe Johnson. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 25th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Pleasant Hill AME Zion Church (14111 Lillard Rd, Soddy-Daisy, TN 37379). A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 25th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
