She was predeceased by: her father Walter Cook; her husband Gary Mercer; her son Steven Lane Mercer; and her siblings, Larry Cook and Darlene Worley.

She is survived by: her daughters, Karri Wilmore (Kyle) and Shawna Burk (Glenn); her grandchildren, Karlie Burk Warner (Bradley), Callie Wilmore, Parker Burk and Maddie Wilmore; her brother Gary Cook (Caroline); her aunt Perdenia "Tincen" Davis; and her friend Calvin Hillin.
