He was predeceased by: his mother Ruth Loyd Phelps; and his sister Katherine Miller. He is survived by: his father Oval Phelps; his wife Louisa LaFever Phelps of Antioch; his son Bobby (Christie Phelps); his grandsons, Austin and Alex Phelps of Murfreesboro; and his nephews, Phillip Miller of Illinois and Jeffery Miller.
