He was predeceased by: his father Basil Bess; his sons, Christopher Brian Bess and David Wayne Bess; and his brother Roger Dale Bess. He is survived by: his wife Diane Meeks Bess; his son Scott Cody Bess (Jordan Rice); his mother Mary Elizabeth Lockhart Bess; his brother Shane Bess (Mary Jo); and his grandson Christopher Wayne Bess. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
