Celia Suzanne Miner Obituary
We are sad to announce that on December 20, 2022, Celia Suzanne Miner of Yankton, South Dakota, born in Oakland, Nebraska passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Blanche Fritts and William Stanley; and her siblings, Tom Fritts and Nancy Oyen. She is survived by: her husband Jim Miner; her children, Amy Miner (Julie Amsberry), Elisabeth O'Toole (Bill) and Jeremy Miner (Kathy); her granddaughters, Eilish O'Toole (Josh Forseth) and Emelia O'Toole (Podge Twomey); her great grandchild Jonah Forseth; her goddaughter Amanda Gieske (Tolsma); and her extended family Ohana.
In addition to her work with education groups, Celia was a director for First Dakota National Bank for over a decade, was a founding member of Interchange, was active in PEO and Beta, and was a director for the Lutheran Social Services Foundation. Along with dear friends Colleen Schurrer and Colette Abbott, Celia worked tirelessly to bring the Susan G. Komen Foundation a South Dakota Chapter and establish a Race for the Cure for breast cancer in South Dakota.
