It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vincent J. Flemming (Watertown, South Dakota), who passed away on November 8, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Theodore Flemming and Veronica Mary Flemming (Cauley); his siblings, Bernard Flemming, John Flemming and Mary Jo Flemming; his in-laws, Fred and Eveline Gilbery; his brothers-in-law, Charles Gilbery and Kenny Gilbery; and his grandchildren, James Flemming and Maria Stangeland.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Ann Gilbery of Lake Preston, SD; his siblings, Paul Flemming (Connie) of Florence, SD, Francis Flemming of Watertown, SD and Madelyn Kozitza of Burnsville, MN; his sisters-in-law, Joan Hemp of Florence, SD and Janice Flemming of DeKalb, IL; and his children, Margaret Knutson (Mark) of Jordan, MN, Charles Flemming (Marie) of Volin, SD, Edwin Flemming (Jackie), Veronica Flemming-Ward of Sioux Falls, SD, Barbara Stangeland (Jason) of Pierre, SD, Leslie Flemming (Sarah) of Bloomington, IN, Matthew Flemming (Marcie) of Elk Point, SD and Denis Flemming (Kristi) of Sturgis, SD. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, he wished that attendees bring baby and children's items to adorn the altar at his funeral. These items will be donated to the Foster Closet, specifically new pajamas and books or gift cards for purchasing items.
