With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Steve Solum of Watertown, South Dakota, who passed away on January 8, 2024 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin O. Solum and Elenor J. Solum (VanSickle); his former wife Nancy Behrens; his granddaughter Isla Hartman; his stepson Lance Mohr; and his parents-in-law, Hulbert Junior, Jean Behrens, Hubert and Mavis Valberg.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Solum (Jan); his children, Angela Kelly (Tom) of Garden City, SD, Carrie Vugteveen (Paul) of Brookings, SD, Tracy Buisker (Brian) of Watertown, SD and Tara Solum (Nick Ernst) of Clark, SD; his stepchildren, Jacey Seeloff (Mike) of Brandon, SD and Riley Mohr (Racheal) of Watertown, SD; and his siblings, Gloria Harrison (Loren) of Keystone, SD, Oliver Solum (Leslie) of West Melburne, FL, Lynn Bleeker (Doug) of Sioux Falls, SD and Don Solum (Sally) of Tea, SD. He is also survived by 24 Grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Sleep in Heavenly Peace, the Lake Area Technical College Alumni Association or the Helgen Cemetery Association.
