He was predeceased by: his parents, Lyle H. Stanton and Gladys C. Stanton (Holscher); his brothers, Lyle "Bub" Stanton and Allen Stanton; and his nephews, Scott McGuire and Jeff McGuire.
He is survived by: his wife Salley Robson; his children, Daniel Stanton (Leanna) of Watertown, SD, Jon Stanton of Watertown, SD and Heidi Starzl (Edward) of Watertown, SD; his siblings, Anita Swenson (Roger), Marilyn Durham, Sandra Carr and Roger Stanton (Sue); and his sister-in-law Mary Jo Stanton of Watertown, SD. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
