He is survived by: his children, Kathleen, Christine and Karol; his wife Violet; his daughter Dawan; his granddaughters, Ashley, Heather and Crystal; his stepson William Bockwoldt (Teresa); his sisters, Kathleen Kaul, Christine Shawda (Steve) and Karol Miles (William); and his nieces and nephews, Tom Miles, Travis Miles, Jon Shawda (Angel), Nadine Kaul Radtke (Greg) and Tiffany Miles.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Humane Society of the Black Hills.
