He was predeceased by: his parents, John G. Nelson and Bentena Nelson (Uglem); his brothers, Leslie and Gordon; his sister-in-law Lorraine Schultz (Loy); and his grandson J. C. Nelson.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Marie Lakness March; his sons, David (Jean), Dennis (Shelly), Tom and Jon (Cathy); his siblings, Bethel Thompson (Don) of Cary, NC and Herbert Nelson of Stillwater, MN; and his sisters-in-law, Bernetta Nelson of Lake Preston and Joan Nelson of Spokane, WA. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
