It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rodney L. Hanson of Brookings, South Dakota, born in Clear Lake, South Dakota, who passed away on June 2, 2021, at the age of 53, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Don Hanson and Maxine Hanson (Krause); his grandparents, Edna Hanson, Roy and Martha Krause; and his stepgrandmother Rose Begalka.
He is survived by: his children, Dexter of Sauk Rapids, MN, Tyler (Zoe) of San Diego, CA and Courtney Hanson (Chris) of Omaha, NE; his stepmother Janice Hanson (Begalka) of Clear Lake, SD; his siblings, Julie Jacobsen (Brian) of Lake Norden, SD, Jane Naylor (Steve) of Pierre, SD, Dan Hanson (Jolene), Dawn Rang (Mark Smith) of Sioux Falls, SD, Kurt Hanson of Maple Grove, MN, Kent Hanson of Windsor, CO, Roy Hanson of Garretson, SD, Royal Hanson (Jeanette) of Brandon, SD and Steve Solem (Katie) of Rogers, MN.; and his stepsiblings, Greg Brandsrud (Sue) of Watertown, SD, Doug Brandsrud (Tracy) of Henry, SD and Donna Sebesta (Jeff) of Sioux Falls, SD.. He is also survived by 29 nieces and nephews, 9 step nieces and nephews, and several grand nieces and nephews.
