It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Rachel A. Holmquist of Brookings, South Dakota, born in Sioux City, Iowa, who passed away on February 4, 2022, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Carl August Jacobs and Lucille Huendling Jacobs; her sister Kristin Peterson; and her nephew Matthew Livengood. She is survived by: her husband Donald Glenn Holmquist of Brookings; her son Christopher Jacob Holmquist (Rachel) of Kansas City, KS; her siblings, Beth Livengood (Curtis) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Ruth Walton (Robert) of Oskaloosa, IA, Mary Varner of Cleveland, OH, Peter Jacobs (Mary) of Yorktown, VA and Susan Hemminger (John) of Des Moines, IA; and her stepdaughters, Ann Lewis of Plymouth, MN, Rebecca Slama (John) of Plymouth, MN and Kathryn Hawkins (Joe) of Wichita, KS. She is also survived by eleven nieces and nephews, six step-grandchildren, and many loving friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Rachel's honor to Lake Campbell Lutheran Church.
